Workshops

We will be running four half-day workshops this year covering a range of topics. The workshops will be held on Wednesday, from 2 pm to 6 pm and on Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm.

Microarrays & Next-Gen Sequencing in Undergraduate Education

Access to and education in high-throughput genomics techniques has been lacking in most undergraduate programs. Cheryl Kerfeld (DOE Joint Genome Instute & UC Berkeley) and Laura Hoopes (Pomona College) will host a workshop on the use of high-throughput genomic technologies including microarrays and Next-Gen sequencing in undergraduate education.

Data Analysis in Next-Gen Sequencing: 1 FULL

This workshop will be jointly hosted by Illumina and Roche and will cover aspects of data analysis and applications. (Workshop full)

Data Analysis in Next-Gen Sequencing: 2

This workshop will be hosted by the Australian Genome Research Facility (AGRF) and will outline next-gen sequencing projects, project design and bioinformatics.

Virtual Microscopy

Jointly hosted by Aperio and the Westmead Children's Hospital, this workshop will cover virtual microscopy and image analysis applications which have been developed with a focus on tissue microarray analysis and concentrating on the computation end of the process - image analysis, data management and virtual capacity.
