The Carrington at Katoomba

The Venue

This years meeting will be held at the Carrington Hotel in the Blue Mountains township of Katoomba, located 107 km west of the Sydney CBD and on the northern edge of the Jamison Valley in the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park.

Katoomba is one of two Cittaslow townships in Australia. The motto for Cittaslow is "festina lente", literally "make haste slowly" or, "take some time to take some time". The venue sits amongst restaurants and shops of Katoomba and is in walking distance of the Echo Point Lookout which has fantastic views of the Three Sisters and overlooks the dense bush of the valleys and gorges to the distant sandstone plateaux.

Getting there

By train:

Katoomba station is located with 200 m of the Hotel and can be reached by the intercity train (that starts at Central Station). Trip time is about 2 hours and costs $12.20 from Central or $25 from the airport (one way). Timetables are here under Central- Lithgow and Lithgow- Central and additional train information here.

By car:

Katoomba is located 90 minutes drive from the Sydney CBD along the Great Western Highway. Take the Katoomba turnoff and turn left at the roundabout and right into Katoomba Street.

By bus:

Buses will be chartered for the meeting. If you require transport to or from Sydney Airport please make sure that you book a seat on the bus when you register.
