Next-Gen Sequencing Workshop (Wednesday pm)

THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL- NO NEW REGISTRATIONS

Roche:

Roche will present a hands-on workshop for data analysis on the 454 GS FLX sequencer and will demonstrate data analysis using the three 454 software tools available:

1. GS de novo assembly tool (Newbler)
2. Amplicon Variant Analyser
3. Reference Mapper tool

Roche will demonstrate projects that have made use of these tools from start to completion and also demonstrate upcoming software improvements, including the GS Transcriptome assembly tool to be launched later this year.

We invite those looking toward 454 sequencing or those that already have data to join in and add to the discussion.

Illumina:

Moore's Law and Now Generation Sequencing with Illumina Presenter - Siddharth Singh, Bioinformatics Support Scientist, Illumina Singapore

Illumina's sequencing technology generates gigabytes of data in a sequence run. Downstream processing further inflates this raw data into terabytes of meaningful data - careful implementation of specific data analysis techniques and tools is the call of the day. Researchers, bioinformaticians and programmers involved in high throughout data analysis may find it difficult to chose from the array of tools and techniques applicable to their area of studies. This workshop will highlight Illumina's data analysis pipeline and tools, Illumina connect partners and third party software for post processing and analysis of sequencing data. The main focus of this workshop is to help researchers go from data to discovery.

Coverage Includes: Data Generation and Beyond, Advance Applications, Data Integration, Tips and Tricks, and Case Studies.
